Why is it important to teach this content?

Choosing reliable, authentic sources when creating an assignment is an important skill to have in school.  To make informed judgments and arguments, it is necessary to collect and reflect on information and data from reliable sources.  Students will need to use their critical thinking skills to analyse sources to conclude whether they are trustworthy and reliable.  These skills are needed across a variety of subjects and through most grades.
